Welcome Back
Today we are finishing our Triangle Treasures project.
In this masterclass, we have learned to use Circular Peyote technique to create these absolutely gorgeous Triangle Treasure components.
If you are not ready for this type of project, you can start by working through the Peyote series of Bead Weaving 101.
The class is being presented in three parts.
- Part 1 – Circular Peyote with Corners
- Part 2 – Filling in the Back with Decreasing
- Part 3 – Closing the Bezel and Setting the Crystal
In Part 1, we made the front and back of the bezel using Circular peyote stitch with increases at the three corners.
We added a 7th row to the front piece using a single bead at the corners.
Now we are ready to stitch into the center of the back piece and use a decrease technique to close the center so we can encase the crystal stone in the final segment of the project.
In Part 2, we used a decreasing Circular Peyote technique to close the center of the back piece of bead work for our beaded bezel.
Today, we are going to use the traditional zippering technique to stitch the two pieces together, with the crystal inserted between them.
We will add a few more accent beads inside the center of the front piece and talk about finding the center for a beaded bail.

Where we left off.....
At the end of Part 1, the remaining working thread of the front piece is exiting the a gold bead on the column.
At the end of Part 2, we wove off the working thread and are ready to stitch the two pieces together.
Zippering the Bead Work
As you can see from this picture, the 12 mm crystal fits into the bezel quite nicely.
Obviously the foil side will be face the back piece of bead work and the crystal side will sit in the center opening of the front piece.
To zip up the corners, we will stitch through all three gold beads.
Along the sides we will stitch through the up beads along each piece of bead work.
After closing the bezel, we will stitch into the center opening to add three tiny accent beads, one in each corner.
Afterwards, I will demonstrate how you can sew through both sides of the bead work to couch the thread and stabilize the crystal in the center.
Finally, we will learn to find the center along any of the three sides in order to position a bail or finding.
I finished my earrings along the shortest side of the triangle bezels.
I simply Brick stitched two metal crimp tubes into the center spot.
I added a third bead, positioned horizontally between them.
In this way, I could easily slide a jump ring into the horizontal bead for attaching the earring wire.

We are going to continue making Peyote Triangles, only we are going back to Tubular Peyote.
This project is very similar to the Advanced Tubular Peyote – Creating 3D Shapes project, in which we made a square shaped component.
Only this time, we are going to add some gorgeous texture and variety to the component by bringing bugle and round seed beads into the mix.
